DiceAnon Podcast Episode 5 – Lord of Da Ring

Here we are again for a fabulous Monday morning. This episode is slightly punch drunk. I was extremely tired and we recorded anyway. We thought it would be something like a weekend edition, but it just kept getting longer.

So, enjoy a few laughs in the beginning, and stick around for a few at the end.

About Mathew Tucker

I've played MtG for many a decade. I love board games such as Risk, Axis and Allies, and Game of Thrones TBG. I used to be heavy into RPG's and the such on consoles and PC/Mac, but as time goes by and the family supersedes the gaming part of me, I stick to more casual games I can play in 15-20 minutes.

  1. hi guys love the sight and pod cast. We have been playing spiderman for the last month and in the pod cast you said distraction was used to win the mirror but with the timing does the effect happen right after blockers so u still take 10 and can push spiderman back to stop 3 to 5? As this is how I read it with the rules. I have been playing it with distraction in a control shell and I find it great.

    1. Just as, Beast activates as soon as blockers are declared, Spiderman activates as soon as he is declared unblocked. That’s why he can be run with Distraction so well.

  2. Thanks for putting out useful strategy in a fun format. I really enjoy what you guys are doing!

When I first read Jinzo, I assumed he works the way it sounds like you guys are playing him(option 1 below). But because of the ambiguous wording, he could be interpreted a few different ways:

    1) the opponent pays 2 life for each use of every action die or global.
    2) the opponent pays two life for the first use only of each action die or global, after that the cost has been paid and other uses are normal
    3) the opponent pays 2 life one time to use action dice and global abilities normally the rest of the turn.

The question was posted on the Wizkids forum a month ago but they aren’t responding. It’s somewhat reassuring that quality players like yourselves have come to the same conclusion. I’m interested to hear how it gets officially ruled.

  3. Wonder girl is a better combo with the ring.
As far as I understand, all effects go to the ring. That’s how we have been ruling it.
